ACES Doha Conducts Stack Monitoring Test for Waste Treatment Plant

Date:
29 Jan 2018

ACES Doha Environment Testing Team conducted recently a stack monitoring test in one of the waste treatment plants in Qatar. The treatment plant is using incinerator to treat different type of waste.

Newly installed Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS) in the treatment plant will be calibrated based on the results of Stack Monitoring Test.

ACES Doha installed isokinetic sampling system to extract the gas samples from the stack. Isokinetic technology is used to extract the gas from the gas stream at the same velocity to get accurate concentration of particulate matter.

ACES Doha applied the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Method 1 to 5 which includes determination of traverse points, moisture, velocity, dry molecular weight, volumetric flow of stack and particulate matter concentration. Additional parameters such as CO, CO2, O2, NOx, NO, SO2 were also measured during the monitoring using portable emission analyzer.

ACES’ client is Boom Waste Treatment Company.
