ACES-Amman has recently completed the site investigation for Al-Attarat Oil Shale Power Plant Project, which will be the first and largest oil shale fired power plant in Jordan for Attarat Power Company (APCO). The project will involve the construction of two energy production units, each with a capacity of 235MW for electrical power and oil production by exploiting the oil shale raw materials in Attarat area, central Jordan.

The geotechnical investigation comprised of drilling of one hundred eighty three (183) boreholes, twenty two (22) test pits, field testing (SPT, permeability, field density, field CBR, soil electrical and thermal resistivity tests, geophysical down-hole seismic test), as well as performing an intensive laboratory testing, and preparing interpretative geotechnical report.
