ACES is glad to announce the completion of comprehensive engineering geological mapping for over 25 asset zones of The OXAGON project, NEOM in KSA.

This geological mapping was conducted employing high-resolution (0.5 m) satellite imagery of the research region, which extended over 22 square kilometers. The geological maps were constructed to further aid in the design process.

Drawing from the mapping and the discontinuity data, the rock mass characterizations were executed using the globally recognized Rock Mass Rating (RMR), Slope Mass Rating (SMR), and Geological Strength Index (GSI) classification systems. Moreover, an evaluation of the natural hazards potentially impacting the proposed constructions was carried out for each asset location. Finally, slope stability assessments are conducted using cutting-edge geotechnical software.

The project was completed by a team of ACES experts from the Dubai and Jeddah offices, and similar undertakings have been performed for other ventures like the NEOM base camp, the Qiddiya project in Riyadh, and the Wellness Ridge project at Amaala.

The client for this project is Systra Surbana Jurong Joint Venture.
