ACES MUSCAT COMPLETES THE GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION FOR MARAFIQ POWER PLANT

ACES Muscat has recently completed the geotechnical investigation and environmental assessment for Marafiq Power Plant project in Duqm. The proposed power plant will replace the existing Duqum Main Power station and the new overhead lines being constructed will reach Duqm within the upcoming 5 years.

The scope of work includes drilling and sampling of 36 boreholes to a maximum depth of 25m, a wide set of geotechnical field testing (trial pits, In situ CBR, and plate load tests). In addition to environmental testing, routine lab testing, and geophysical surveys (Electrical resistivity test and seismic downhole tests).

The Client for this project is Wood GmbH Italy, the project’s main contractor is GE, while Marafiq is the project's owner.
