As the year comes to a close, we wanted to wish you a happy new year and take this opportunity to thank you for being a valued member of the ACES community.
This past year has been a unique and challenging one. The rapid spread of COVID-19 impacted ACES, both internally and externally. Like most institutions, we’ve had to reassess our business model, emphasize our commitment to employee health and safety, and accelerate technology adoption across our systems.
Externally, we weathered the disruptions by taking part in the major projects across our geographical footprint. In the UAE, we completed the site investigation for Etihad Rail (sections 2C and 2D) and the extensive investigation for the Modon Development in Abu Dhabi. In KSA, we were awarded several Vision 2030 projects, including the geotechnical works for Qiddiya Theme Park, the geotechnical and material testing works for the Red Sea Development, and surveying works Amala Airport, in addition to several major Aramco projects in the Eastern Province.
In Qatar, ACES Doha contributed to the inauguration of several FIFA 2022 stadiums including Ahmed Bin Ali, Al Janoub, and Education city Stadiums for which we completed the geotechnical and material testing works. Finally, in Jordan, we continued our construction material testing works for the Bus Rapid Transit, and in Oman, we completed the geotechnical investigation works for the Duqm Refinery Petrochemical Project.
These projects highlight the thousands of projects completed in the past year, which have made 2020 one of our best years to date.
Looking back at the challenges of 2020, we are confident of our abilities to serve our clients better, provide opportunities for growth for our staff, and be a positive driver of change in our society at large for many years to come.
