As part of Imperial College MSc Geotechnics Visiting Lecturers Programme, a lecture was delivered by Dr. Naeem Abdulhadi (Deputy Group CEO) titled “Site Exploration & Geotechnical Investigation – ACES Experience” in the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department at Imperial College in London-UK on 12 February 2019. The lecture was attended by the Geotechnics Section Masters students as well as the academic staff.

The seminar covered several topics including geotechnical risk, objectives of site investigation, planning & work approach, drilling procedures, sampling, field testing, geophysical methods, and laboratory testing. In addition, case studies were presented on-site investigation campaigns carried out by ACES for prestigious projects in the Middle East such as Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia (which is set to be the tallest building in the world) and the Research and Training Reactor in Jordan.

It is worth mentioning that ACES has joined Imperial College Bursary Scheme in 2016. In addition, ACES is sponsoring ACES prize for the best MSc dissertation in the Geotechnics Section at Imperial College.
